The deadline for submissions to the Academy is 1 November 2021 so the announcement from FFI can come anytime now. The rule also says that 'the submitted motion pictures must be first released theatrically in their respective countries between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2021'. This makes the situation kinda tricky as technically, not many films were released in theatres in India this year. Would be interesting to see what film FFI would be picking.
